    Our Hospice House on Christmas Day 2010

Burke Hospice & Palliative Care is your premier hometown hospice providing over 30 years of trusted service and compassionate care. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit recognized by the IRS, Burke Hospice was founded in 1982 by a handful of dedicated volunteers. Today, we have a staff of over 100 professionals and serve over 300 patients per day in our programs. Every year, we touch the lives of thousands more relatives, friends, and neighbors in our community.

We are accredited with Deemed Status by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and a recent member of the Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina. We are also a Quality Partner of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

We are proud to have been voted "Best Home Health" in Burke County by readers of the Morganton News-Herald in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Effective August 1, 2014, Section 1866 (a)(1)(F)(ii) of the Social Security Act required hospices and other health care organizations to maintain an agreement with a Quality Improvement Organization, (QIO).

KEPRO is the Beneficiary Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization, (BFCC-QIO) authorized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to review medical services for NC . They will manage all Medicare complaints related to quality of care for hospice.

Refund
Donations are final. There will be no refund given for donations given to BHPC, except when an error occurs, such as pressing the donate now button twice or adding a zero, example entering $1,000 by adding a zero in error.

Clinical Research
Burke Hospice & Palliative Care does not and shall not participate in the practice of providing care, treatment, or services by utilizing experimental therapies, or investigational drugs. In addition, BHPC does not participate in clinical research.
